Bethany Home has two Dementia Units. These are also called Special

Needs Units (SNUs). There are both a unit in the Nursing Facility and

in the Assisted Living Facility. Each contains only 8 beds. These

Units offer an environment more suitable for residents with short

term memory loss. Exit from these Units has some additional

safeguards. Although both deal with some behavioral issues,

neither are meant for residents with vigorous wandering or

major aggressive behavior. Both seek to enhance the quality

of life of the residents with an environment that suits their

special needs.
